Enemalta has announced that over the coming months, it will continue “reinforcing the electricity distribution network with 70 kilometres of new 11 kilovolt cables.

The work will be carried out in collaboration with Infrastructure Malta and Transport Malta and will be in areas that were worst hit be electricity black-outs in the summer.

In Gozo, these works will be in Nadur, Xaghra and Xlendi. They are due to be completed in the next six months.

Infrastructure Malta said that, in conjunction with Transport Malta, will collaborate with Enemalta on infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing the electricity distribution network.

“This partnership is crucial for achieving ambitious yet clearly defined objectives, ensuring that our country remains resilient in addressing the challenges of the future,” it said.

Transport Malta said that it will contribute support by deploying field officers and enforcement officers on site, “ensuring a harmonious balance between community needs and the imperative to carry out these essential works.”
