Almost 76,000 tourists visited Gozo during January – NSO

In January, the number of tourists visiting Gozo and Comino, including both same-day and overnight visitors, totalled 75,906, or 35.7% of total tourists (172,021), the National Statistics Office said today.
There were an estimated 172,021 inbound tourists that visited the Maltese Islands during January, this was an increase of 26.3% compared to the corresponding month of 2023.
The NSO noted that Italian, British and Polish residents made up 46.0% of total inbound tourists in January.
Total nights spent amounted to 1,009,624, and the average length of stay was of 5.9 nights.
The largest share of guest nights (79.4%) was spent in rented accommodation establishments, the NSO said.
Total expenditure increased by 10.9% on last year for January, surpassing €109.9 million in February, resulting in an expenditure per night of €108.9.
