ERA is “committed to safeguard our natural heritage”

The Environment and Resources Authority has said that it is “committed to safeguard our natural heritage and continues to work towards a greener, more sustainable future.”
This follows on from the announcement by the ERA on Wednesday that in Gozo, Hondoq ir-Rummien, il-Qortin ta’ Isopu, il-Gebla tal-Hnejja and il-Gebla tal-Fessej, have been designated as Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) of National Importance, “adding another 850,000 square metres to the country’s list of protected land.”
The ERA noted that together with the other SACs of National Importance, the total % area has increased by approximately 45%.
