Unemployment rate recorded as 3.1% for April - NSOThe National Statistics Office data released today show that in April, the monthly unemployment rate was 3.1%. This was an increase of 0.1 percentage point from March and down 0.2 percentage points from April last year.

For April, the number of unemployed persons was 9.900, with the 25 to 74 age group being the major contributor to the overall level of unemployment.

The unemployment rate for males in April was 3.5% while the rate for females stood at 2.6%.

The unemployment rate during April for persons aged 15 to 24 years (youth unemployment rate) was 7.1% while the rate for those between 25 and 74 years stood at 2.7%.
