Labour won in the European elections, but with a far reduced majority of 8,454 – at 117,805 votes or 45.26%. The PL won 3 MEP seats out of the 6, while PN gained back the 3rd seat with 109,351 votes, or 42.02%.

The elected MEPs for Labour are: Alex Agius Saliba with 63,899 votes on count 1; Daniel Attard with 34,764 votes on count 37 and Gozitan Thomas Bajada with 25,047 on count 37.

For PN, Roberta Metsola was elected with 87,473 votes in count 1, becoming Malta’s most voted MEP candidate in the EU elections since Malta first joined in 2004.

The other 2 elected MEPs for PN were both elected on count 35 and are Peter Agius with 38,236 votes and David Casa with 37,623 votes.

The Electoral Commission said that there were 270,142 votes cast, in total of which 9.884 were invalid.

In total there were 370,184 registered voters.
