During the second quarter of this year, total guests in Gozo collective accommodation increased by 4.4% to 30,479 on the same period last year, while nights increased by 5.3% to 88,660, the National Statistics Office said.
In Gozo, the NSO noted that the average length of stay was 2.9 nights.
The net occupancy rate in Gozo increased by 0.8 percentage points to 44.7% during the same period.
Total guests in Gozo collective accommodation for the first half of the year amounted to 47,913, this was up on the same period last year when the figure stood at 44,382.
On a national basis, total guests in collective accommodation establishments amounted to 705,053, up by 10.8% reported in the corresponding period of 2023.
Total nights spent during the period under review reached 3,018,815, an increase of 12.5% over second quarter of 2023.
During April-June 2024, the largest share of guest nights (47.9%) was reported in 4-star hotels.
Net use of bed-places in the second quarter of this year increased by 0.7 percentage points, when compared to the same quarter of 2023, to 69.1%, the NSO said.
