Next month, the 17th edition of the Qala International Folk Festival returns to the heart of this village, organised by the Qala Local Council and the Qala Menhir Folk Group, in collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Directorate within the Ministry for Gozo.

Taking place over three days, between Friday, the 13th and Sunday, the 15th of September, this festival is a firm favourite on the Gozo cultural calendar.

The village square of Qala, will be transformed into a hub of folk activities that give visitors an insight into the island’s cultural history, with music, dance, traditional food, colourful costumes, as well as workshops.

The Festival’s intercultural programme has grown to attract locals and visitors alike who enjoy this different and enjoyable spectacle.

This year, the festival will see the participation of the Menhir Qala Folk Group, Ogygia Folk Group, Ta’ Verna Folk Band, Calypso Grupp, Borievka – Slovenia, Kud Dukat Folk Group – Serbia, The Turning Point, Kevin Borg & Band and the Joy Givers.
