Outbound tourist trips in the first half of 2024 reached 368,398 (+6.0%) while total nights spent surpassed 2.4 million nights (+3.3%)the National Statistics Office said today.

Total tourism expenditure from January to June was estimated at €329.9 million (+11.0%) while expenditure per capita stood at €896 (+4.7%).

The NSO said that outbound tourist trips from April to June reached 189,404, almost on par with the same period last year, while total nights spent amounted to 1,213,539 nights.

Italy remained the most popular destination with a share of 39.3% of total tourist trips.

The NSO noted that the majority of guest nights (51.7%) were spent in rented accommodation establishments.
