July’s unemployment rate down slightly on previous month

Data from the National Statistics Office today show that in July, the monthly unemployment rate was 3.0 %, down by 0.1 percentage point on June. It remained stable when compared to July last year.
The NSO noted that in July, the number of unemployed persons were numbered at 9,503. Once again, the 25 to 74 age group being the major contributor to the overall level of unemployment.
The unemployment rate for males in July was 3.4%, while the rate for females stood at 2.4%.
The unemployment rate during July for persons aged 15 to 24 years (youth unemployment rate) was 8.7%, while the rate for those between 25 and 74 years stood at 2.5% per cent.
