Next Friday, the Fontana Wine Festival is taking place in Fountain Street, presented by Kummissjoni Zghazagh Fontana together with the Ministry for Gozo and Planning Fontana Local Council.
This free Festival will be showcasing a vast selection of Gozitan wines which are cultivated locally by Gozitan farmers and produced by Bacchus Winery, Delicata Wine Maker Ltd., Taà Mena and Marsovin. The wine stalls close at 11.30pm.
Whilst entrance for the event is free, in order to try the vast selection of wines, one would need to purchase a souvenir glass at the price of €18 (which is yours to keep). Additionally, the glass entitles you to free flowing wine were there is no limit on the number of different wines one can taste.
Tickets for the glasses can be bought online or physically at the event. Online tickets can be bought on the ‘Hand Me Tickets’ website.
Non-wine drinkers will also have a choice of alternative drinks from the different stalls set up.
The entertainment during this popular event will feature Ira Losco & Band, Lisa Gauci & Band and DJ Izzy.
The organisers said that it is an event for all the family, taking place on Friday, the 20th of September, the Festival opens at 8pm. Parking will be available.
The organisers said that because of the open bar they are asking that patrons please – “drink responsibly and don’t drink and drive.” No alcohol will be served to persons under 17 and ID card may be requested by security personnel.
