The Ombudsplan 2025 has been submitted to the Speaker of the House of Representatives Anglu Farrugia by the Ombudsman, Judge Emeritus Joseph Zammit McKeon,

The Ombudsplan 2025 sets out the planned activities and initiatives that the Office of the Ombudsman aims to undertake in the coming year. It also provides Parliament with an update on the concerns raised in the previous year’s Ombudsplan.

The primary objective of this document is to request the required funding from Parliament, which, once approved by the House of Representatives, will be allocated from the Consolidated Fund.

2025 marks a significant milestone for the Office of the Ombudsman, as it celebrates 30 years since its establishment. In recognition of this anniversary, the Office said it will reaffirm its commitment to its core responsibilities: protecting rights, ensuring fairness, standing for justice, and fostering good governance.

The Ombudsplan will be made available to the public once it is tabled in Parliament after the summer recess. Following this, it will be reviewed and discussed during a special session of the House Business Committee.
