Bethlehem f’Ghajnsielem 15th edition is now open following its inauguration by Gozo and Planning Minister Clint Camilleri.

The nativity scene is synonymous with the Christmas season in Gozo and attracts thousand of visitors from both home and abroad, to experience the truly magical nativity village.

It is spread over an area of 20,000 square metres, and seeks to replicate, the atmosphere and environs of Bethlehem at the time when Jesus Christ was born over 2000 years ago, with the help of around 100 volunteer actors to set the scene.

The main attraction for visitors to the nativity village is of course the Grotto, with the Baby Jesus in the loving arms of Mary and with Joseph by her side.

The Minister said that, “Bethlehem f’Ghajnsielem is a model of how our cultural and religious identity can be transformed into an opportunity for Gozo to continue to be positively mentioned on a national and international level and attract many people. This event not only reiterates the importance of Christmas as a time of unity and hope, but also demonstrates the spirit of the Gozitan community. I thank the Ghajnsielem Local Council and the hundreds of volunteers involved in organising this living reconstruction to become a reality.”
