A 21-year old man from Qala , Gozo, sustained grievous injuries in a traffic accident in Victoria on Monday afternoon.

Police said that the accident happened at around 12.45pm in Triq Gorg Borg Olivier. The young man was driving a Kia Creed which crashed into a wall and overturned.

A medical team and Civil Protection personnel assisted at the scene.The driver was taken to the Gozo General Hospital where he was later certified to have sustained grievous injuries.

Magistrate Simone Grech has appointed an inquiry.

Police investigations into the accident are ongoing.
