Last year, approximately 6.5 kilometres of new underground power cables were laid in Gozo, while this year Enemalta has so far laid approximately 1.5 kilometres of cables that continued to consolidate the link between Marsalforn and Victoria, said Energy Minister Miriam Dalli.
She added that “it is planned that by the end of the year, a total of 10 kilometres of new cables will have been laid on the island of Gozo.”
Minister Dalli was replying to a Parliamentary Question tabled by PM MP Chris Said, who asked, of the 30 kilometres of underground power cables that have been laid, how many have been laid in Gozo so far and in what locations.
Information on the localities of the 6.5 kilometres of cables laid in 2024 were not provided.
