As part of the EU Climate Pact initiative, MIEMA (www.miema.org), as the Pact’s country coordinator in Malta is organising a Climate Walk activity in San Lawrenz, Gozo, this Sunday, the 6th of April.

The event will begin at 3.30pm at San Lawrenz Local Council and is free and open to all ages. The Climate Walk will offer participants a unique opportunity to explore one of the Maltese Islands’ smallest localities and discover how San Lawrenz is embracing sustainability at a local level.

The walk, which will last approximately 1.5 hours, will take attendees on a guided tour through the village to showcase environmentally friendly practices introduced by the local council.

It will conclude with a scenic hike to Dwejra Bay, a Natura 2000 site, highlighting the importance of biodiversity and sustainable agriculture in the area.

Organised in collaboration with the Local Council of San Lawrenz and Climate Pact Ambassador and Mayor Noel Formosa, the event will demonstrate how even the smallest communities can make a meaningful impact in the fight against climate change.

The organisers said that the walk is not only a celebration of nature, but also a reminder that every community – regardless of size – can contribute to wider European climate goals.
