The quail hunting season will open on Monday, the 14th of April, and will remain open until Sunday, the 4th of May, from two hours before sunrise until noon during all days of the quail season.

The Ministry for Gozo and Planning also announced that the Turtle dove hunting season will open on Monday, the 21st of April, until Sunday, the 4th of May, from two hours before sunrise until noon during all days of the dove season.

This is after, with reference to the Special Hunting License for Spring 2025, Legal Notices AL73/2025 and AL74/2025 declaring the hunting season for quail and dove were published today, the Ministry said.

The Ministry advised that any quail and Turtle dove hunted during the open season for the species concerned must be reported immediately and anyone who goes out hunting and does not catch anything must report the hunting effort, as explained in the Special License.

The national quotas are 2,400 quail and 1,500 dove. There are no individual quotas.
