Gozo Lace Day is taking place next Sunday, the 4th of May, at the University of Malta – Gozo Campus, Mgarr Road, Xewkija, between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

There will be a large variety of activities to interest visitors at this very popular event.

Organised by the Lace Making Programme at the University of Malta in collaboration wit OIDFA (Malta) and Koperattiva Ghawdxija tal-Bizzilla u Artigjanat, some of the attractions will include exhibitions and demonstrations relating to Maltese lace making.

Local lace makers are invited to sit with their own pillows to join others in lace making, as well as have the opportunity to share their experiences.

There will be a talk by Chev. Paul Camilleri Cauchi on his technique of drawing lace in ecclesiastical portraits and on statues; Award of Certificates; Launching of new Lace Day pattern (Lace for cushions) and hands-on working by visiting lace makers.

Stands there on the day will be by the Lace Guild – OIDFA Malta – Koperattiva Ghawdxija tal-Bizzilla u Artigjanat – and the Centre for Liberal Arts and Sciences students.

The event is open to the general public and entrance is free of charge.
