On Sunday morning, around 6,000 Scouts and Guides from across Malta and Gozo converged in Valletta for the Scout Associations of Malta and The Girl Guide Association of Malta’s Annual Rally and the St George’s Day Parade by the Baden Powell Scouts Malta.

Acting President Anglu Farrugia presided over the parade, with the Scouts and Guides in full uniform gathering at the Granaries in Floriana, and marched down Republic Street behind the colours of the Maltese, Scouting and Guiding flags.

This year, the Scouts and Guides were joined by around 300 Scouts from the Baden Powell Scouts Malta, as they marked the feast of St George, the patron saint of scouts worldwide.

On arrival at St. George’s Square, in front of the Grandmaster’s Palace, the Acting President honoured all Scout and Guide groups by taking the salute.

The annual parade – a prestigious tradition celebrated with a sense of dedication for several years – served as a reminder of the commitment, discipline and service to the community that these organisations foster among young people.
