To mark Inter Club Gozo’s 10th anniversary next weekend, the club will be carrying out various activities. Special guests will be the former legendary player who won the treble with Inter FC in 2009-2010, Maicon Douglas Sisenando, as well as Stefania Marchionna – la madrina dell’Inter 2021.

This was announced by Joe Bajada, president of the Gozitan Inter Supporters Club, noting that it would be “appropriate to bring Maicon, a former Brazilian international player, two- time winner of the FIFA Confederations Cup (2005 Germany and 2009 South Africa), as well as two other Copa América victories (2004 Peru and 2007 Venezuela).”

He recalled the honours that Maicon won with Inter, including 4 Serie A Championships in 2006–07, 2007–08, 2008– 09, 2009–10; twice the Coppa Italia in 2009–10, 2010–11; three times the Super Coppa Italiana in 2006, 2008, 2010; once the UEFA Champions League in 2009–10 and once the FIFA Club World Cup in 2010.

The highlight of the celebrations will be the Gala Dinner on Saturday, the 10th of May 10th, starting 7.30pm, at the Grand Hotel, Mgarr, Gozo. Due to the high demand for tickets the club said that bookings have been reopened so that no one is disappointed.

Another activity will be a training session for the Gozitan U/13 boys at the Gozo Stadium, which will be led by Maicon himself.

Bajada expressed his heartfelt thanks to Visit Gozo, Visit Malta, Grand Hotel, and Gozo Frank Travel for their support in this first visit to the Maltese islands of Maicon Douglas Sisenando and Stefania Marchionna.
