A 70-year old motorcyclist was grievously injured in a collision with a car in Ghajnsielem on Tuesday morning.

Police said that the accident happened at around 11.15am in Triq L-Imgarr.

The motorcyclist, who is from Xewkija, was riding a Honda motorbike which was involved in a collision with a Kia Picanto, driven by a 41-year old Italian man.

A medical team were called to the scene and the elderly man was taken to Gozo General Hospital where he was later certified as having sustained grievous injuries. No details were given as to any injuries for the car driver.

Police investigations are ongoing.
