Gozo Hospital: Structural, infrastructural and beautification works underway - MinisterMinister for Health and Active Ageing Jo Etienne Abela has said that structural, infrastructural and beautification works are underway at the Gozo General Hospital “in order to continue to strengthen existing health services while providing new ones.”

The Minister was replying to a Parliamentary Question tabled by Opposition MP Chris Said, on what structural; infrastructural and beautification works; and the purchase of medical equipment, are planned to be carried out or purchased at the Gozo General Hospital from now until the end of this year.

The Health Minister went on to say that “among these works are those being carried out in the Cardiology Department and the Miscarriage Room.”

He said that there is also the introduction of a specialised service that includes diagnostic evaluation of sleep-related diseases and sleep monitoring. This is in addition to other general improvements throughout the Hospital.

In addition to these works, Minister Jo Etienne Abela said that several public calls for tenders were made for the purchase of medical equipment, which calls are available on the ePPS.

“This equipment, once purchased and installed, will make the Gozo General Hospital one of the highest quality in terms of health while continuing to offer Gozitan patients a treatment service in Gozo without the need to travel to Malta,” stated the Minister.
