On Thursday, the 7th of January 2010, during the Provincial Chapter held between the 3rd and 9th of January 2010, Sr. Josephine Xuereb was appointed as the new Provincial Superior of the Franciscan Sisters of the Heart of Jesus.

Sr. Josephine was born on the 23rd September 1968 and is from San Gwann, she is a qualified social worker. Sr. Josephine was superior of Fra Diego Home for the last six years.

She will be assisted in her new post by Sr. Francesca Abela Vicar and Provincial Secretary, Sr. Amabile Hili, Sr. Chiara Maria Barbara and Sr. Claudia Zammit Provincial Counsellors. Sr. Teresia Buttigieg is the new Provincial Bursar.

The Gozo Diocese congratulates them and promises them in their prayers.
