42 new proofreaders were recently awarded the Certificate of Proofreading in Maltese from the University of Malta and the official warrant from the National Council for the Maltese Language.

The University of Malta said that the new qualified proofreaders include educators, journalists, communication coordinators of public entities and local councils, EU translators, and officers from the private sector.

In all 772 proofreaders have successfully completed this university course since it started in 2006.

This one-year online course (MQF 5) is organised by the Department of Maltese, within the Faculty of Arts, with the support of the Maltese Language Council, and starts in February. All evening lessons are carried out online twice a week. Exams are held in class.

For those who would like to polish up their Maltese writing, then please apply for the next course by the 30th of January at 2pm.
