National Statistics Office data released today, show that outbound tourist trips during 2025 reached 929,645 (+10.2%) while total nights spent reached 6.9 million nights (+20.3%).

Outbound tourist trips from October and December reached 268,619 and increase of 19.3% over the corresponding quarter of the previous year, while total nights spent amounted to 1,999,303, an increase of 29.7%.

The NSO noted that Italy remained the most popular destination with a share of 32.2% of tourist trips.

The majority of guest nights (55.3%) were spent in non-rented accommodation establishments.

Total estimated expenditure by outbound tourists between for 2025 stood at €952.4 million (+18.5%), equivalent to an average of €1,024 per capita, (+7.5%) the NSO said.
