Work on Triq il-Wied, Victoria and Triq l-Emigranti, Nadur have been completed so that now 12 streets, out of the 100 new residential streets promised for Gozo in the next three years, are ready, said Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri.

He said, “we are building these roads as promised so that the infrastructure on this island continues to be strengthened. The completion of these roads also continues to fulfil the Government’s promise of improving the quality of life of residents. We are ensuring that the roads are completed with modern and sustainable infrastructure, with the commitment remaining to complete the promised 100 residential roads within three years.”

In Triq il-Wied, water mains installations, drainage repairs, and new service connections for homes were carried out by the WSC so that this road could then be given tarmac. The Ministry for Gozo and Planning replaced a fallen stormwater line, adjusted the new road levels and completed the remaining asphalt works.

In Triq l-Emigranti, the Water Services Corporation carried out extensive works including new house connections, a new gravity sewer, as well as a new pumping station with modern infrastructure which replaced the old system.

The Ministry for Gozo and Planning said that it completed the construction of rubble walls and carried out road levelling works and concrete channels so that an area of approximately 1,000 square metres was finally tarmacked.
