Data released by he National Statistics Office shows that the annual rate of inflation in March as measured by the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices remained constant at 2.3%.

The NSO noted that the highest annual inflation rates in March were recorded in recreation, sport and culture (4.6%) and restaurant and accommodation services (3.9%).

The lowest annual inflation rates were registered in and clothing and footwear (-3.9%) and information and communication (-3.6%).

The largest upward contribution to the overall annual inflation was measured in the restaurant and accommodation services index (+0.61 percentage points) largely due to the higher prices or restaurant services.

The NSO said that the largest downward contribution was recorded in the information and communication index (-0.18 percentage points) mainly reflecting lower prices of mobile equipment.

The 12-month moving average rate for March stood at 2.5%.
