The Department of Social Security are informing the public that the majority of applications for Child Allowance for the period 3 July 2010-1 July 2011, which were submitted, were processed and the payment for the first thirteen week will be deposited into the bank account designated by the families concerned on Saturday, the 3rd of July 2010.

They said that there may be applications which are not as yet processed, because they arrived at the Department after the end of April 2010 (the date due date for receipt of applications) and/or requests were received in the Department without the information or documents that are necessary to be able to determine the rate payable.

The Department are advising that these families will recieve a provisional payment to the thirteenth week in advance, at a minimum rate of € 4.81 per week per child. As these applications are processed the families concerned will be paid the difference after the calculations have been made. The Department will notify these families by letter, on this interim payment.

In case of difficulty the members of the public are kindly requested to go to the nearest Department District Office for further assistance.
