The Mnarja Band Philharmonic will be holding a musical concert entitled ‘Big Band Adventures,’ on the occasion of the feast of St. Peter and St. Paul on Wednesday, the 23rd of June 2010, at 9pm.

The concert will take place at Martin Camilleri Square, Nadur, Gozo, and the band will be under the direction of Mro. Joseph Grech.

Amongst the musical pieces to be performed by the Mnarja Band are Overture – Il-Barbiere di Siviglia (G. Rossini), Medley – Tchaikovsky’s Greatest Hits (P. I. Tchaikovsky), Mozart Pop Symphony (W.A. Mozart), Concerto for Drum Set and Band (L. Neeck), You Raise Me Up (J. Groban), Gloria (U. Tozzi) and John Williams in Concert (J. Williams).

The concert will come to an end with some well known popular medleys, including Super Hits of the 90’s (J. V Kraeydonck) and Selections from Mary Poppins (R & R Sherman).

This year’s concert will be under the patronage of the new Archpriest of Nadur, Mons. Jimmy Xerri PH.L.

As in previous concerts held at the same venue, this year’s concert promises to offer patrons an enjoyable evening. The general public is warmly invited to attend and entrance is free of charge.
