Det Norske Sjoemannskor to hold concerts in Gozo & Malta

Gozo’s Gaulitanus Choir is presenting two concerts featuring Det Norske Sjoemannskor (The Norwegian Seamen Choir).

The first concert will be held at the Gozo Cathedral, Victoria, on Thursday, the 2nd of September at 7.15pm. A lunchtime concert will take place the following day on Friday, the 3rd of September, at 12.30pm at St. James’ Church, Merchants Street, Valletta, Malta.

The Norwegian male choir will be presenting a variety of sacred works and will be conducted by Jarle Flemvaag with Erik Bergene accompanying on the accordion.

Both choirs are celebrating important anniversaries. While the Gozitan choir is celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Norwegian one is celebrating its 50th The Malta trip is part of their 50th anniversary celebrations.

Det Norske Sjoemannskor choir is well-known in Norway having been on the radio and television many times. While they give around 20 to 25 performances every year, pride of place is reserved to the annual memorial church service in memory of those who lost their lives at sea.

Entrance for both the Gozo and Malta concerts is free and everybody is warmly invited to attend.
