The GRTU Petrol Station Owners President Carlo Cini and GRTU Vice President Sergio Camilleri have said that next week they will be meeting the Malta Resources Authority to deliver the resolution of the Petrol Station Owners General Meeting held at the GRTU last week:

The Union said that the resolution states that if their members suffer more delays in obtaining outstanding replies from the MRA on the claims they have submitted for increased profitability per litre of fuel sold, as their costs are increasing as well as the extra investment required to upgrade their stations, then they will activate the plan of action directed by the newly elected Owners Committee. This action will include closures of petrol stations on pre-advised days.

Enemalta has taken drastic action against owners when it unilaterally suspended the contributions to an Owners Central Fund established to meet maintenance and renewal of fuel pumps and this action has enraged petrol station owners, The GRTU concluded.
