Last Sunday, the 21st of November 2010, the Xaghra Local Council organised a Car Boot Sale as part of the European Week for Waste Reduction. This activity was held at the Xaghra Primary School’s playground.

This was the first time that the local council had organised an activity with the aim of collecting funds to enable educational and informative material to be published. This material will present several important issues such as the need of waste separation and recycling and the need of keeping the locality clean.

A large number of local residents, along with other Gozitans and Maltese participated in this event, thus contributing to this good cause.

The Xaghra Local Council said it would like to thank Mr. Mario Xerri, Head of the Xaghra Primary School, for granting permission to use the school yard for this car boot sale and all those who gave a lending hand in the activity’s preparation and implementation, the council also thanked all those who took part to make it such a success.
