GO Malta has once again pledged its full support to L-Istrina – Malta’s high-powered fund-raising campaign scheduled for 26 December. GO said it prides itself in being one of L-Istrina’s longest-standing partner and supporter and has been actively involved in the worthy cause since its inception eleven years ago. What’s more, GO recently presented the Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF) with a hefty donation of €29,791 from call charges waived by the company during last year’s edition of L-Istrina.

In addition, GO said it has extended its support towards the other events organised by The Malta Community Chest Fund including Rockestra, the President’s Fun Run and for the first time this year organised GO Charity Fun Day – a marathon of exciting activities for all the family in aid of l-Istrina.

GO is the official communications provider for the Malta Community Chest Fund and throughout the year supports the organisation with the provision of various communication and entertainment services for free throughout the year at the Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF) premises in Valletta and the L-Istrina Office at San Anton Palace.

In addition GO offers its support by waiving call charges and other expenses connected with donations made by phone during the huge fund-raising initiative. Last year alone, GO provided its man hours, communications infrastructure, services and donation to the tune of over €60,000.

At one of the Lufthansa Technik (Malta) hangars in Hal Farrug, Luqa earmarked once again as the venue for L-Istrina 2010, GO has already installed a state-of-the art phone-in system that will enable members of the general public to pledge their donations via a telephone call to an indicated number. Donation lines will operate on two separate hunting systems dedicated to donations of varying denominations.

GO communication services at the massive l-Istrina 2010 marathon further include fixed lines, 60 donation lines for €12 donations, 30 to receive €24 donations, a substantial amount of other exchange lines, hot lines, pledge lines, general lines with hunting, SMS donation lines and mobile connections, data connections for high-speed ADSL (WiFi /epos – business connect) as well as DTTV connections at various strategic points earmarked for use by the L-istrina teams.

Speaking about L-Istrina 2010, GO’s Chief Executive Officer, David Kay said, “This time of the year is very special for GO in that we take the chance to focus some of our efforts on meeting our important social responsibilities. Throughout the year GO supports a range of deserving events aimed at enhancing life standards for the less fortunate members of the local community. These events cover a wide spectrum of community experience l-Istrina being by far the major initiative we have invested in over the years.”

GO will again waive charges as well as provide man-hours, communications infrastructure and various quad-play services throughout the event and once again join forces with other local companies and will again be making a donation to L-Istrina in line with its social responsibilities.
