A group from the University of the Third Age (U3E) Gozo have been working together to compile a compact disc entitled ‘Gozo Memories.’ The disc includes photographs, writings and other materials reflecting memories of the past sixty years.

Mr Charles Farrugia, national archivist, coordinated the work that went into the CD. The group U3E Gozo, as well as compiling the CD, was also the first to publish a book which contained stories and short essays written by members of the group themselves. The book, ‘The dance of Life,’ was published in 2004 in cooperation with the Ministry for Gozo, the European Centre of Gerontology of the University of Malta and the Malta Tourism Authority.

The CD, ‘Gozo Memories,’ was launched by the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono., during an event held at the exhibition hall within the Ministry for Gozo in Victoria. The Minister commended the initiative and said that through their participation in the Gozo U3E, members are keeping themselves active in society. The Minister also said that the CD ‘Memories Gozo’ is opening the window on the recent history of the island and will be of interest to all who love the island.
