In collaboration with the Ghajnsielem Local Council, Ghaqda Drammatika Ghajnsielem will be presenting the passion play The Son of Man (Bin il-Bniedem)-

Man! The most important creature that God created, so much so that he made him in his likeness and loved him so much that because of his fall into sin and death he sent his only son in the flesh to redeem with his blood every man of every race, language and nation. Be his skin black, white, red, yellow or brown – everyone one was ransomed with the blood of the Son of Man. Then why have we expelled him, discarded him? Why can’t we let him unite us?

The cast is made up of around 40 actors. Stage design is by Franco Ciangura with various people being involved backstage. The direction of this play is in the hands of JoAnne Debrincat.

Ghaqda Drammatika Ghajnsielem was established in 1987 with the principal aim of producing activities connected with the Holy Week. The Son of Man (Bin il-Bniedem), is the 20th original passion play produced by this group.

The Son of Man (Bin il-Bniedem) will be staged at Independence Square, Ghajnsielem, Gozo on Saturday the 9th of April 2011 from 8pm onwards. Entrance is free. Seating for this performance will be on a first come first served basis.

In the case of bad weather the play will be performed on Sunday the 10th of April at the same time and place.
