As part of its support towards the arts, BOV is supporting ‘Boats, Creeks & Harbours,’ an exhibition by artist Patrick Galea. A total of 23 colourful works of art mainly featuring local scenes, will be on display at the Italian Cultural Institute in Valletta.
Stephanie Agius, from Marketing at Bank of Valletta met Mr Galea during his preparations prior to the exhibition. “It is fascinating to see works of art which truly manage to capture the seasonality and light the Maltese islands offer. We are pleased to be part of this endeavour that supports such talent,” said Ms Agius.
In his appreciation for the Bank’s support, the artist gave some background related to his work. “This solo exhibition reflects my experience of the daily and seasonal changes which are so particular to Maltese landscapes. All of my paintings involve a fusion of the subject and its surroundings, the more the subject contrasts with the surroundings, the more visible it becomes.”
The paintings will be on display at the Italian Cultural Institute, St. George’s Square, Valletta between the 11th OF April and the 4th of May, 2011.
