The Employees’ Social, Cultural and Educational Committee of Gozo General Hospital, in collaboration with Puttinu Cares Gozo, organised a fun walk yesterday, to raise funds in aid of Puttinu Cares, the organisation that helps by supporting those ill with cancer and their families.

The Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono and Frederick Azzopardi, Parliamentary Assistant within the Ministry for Gozo joined with the many participants for the walk which started from the main entrance of the Gozo General Hospital.

The walk was the first of a series of events taking place. For the first time in Gozo, the Puttinu Cares Gozo Committee is organising the Puttinu Cares Gozo Sports Weekend, a large-scale activity in several localities in Gozo in aid of Puttinu Cares.

The activities will kicked yesterday with the walk and will reach their climax during the weekend between the 6th and 8th May 2011, during the same weekend that the 7th edition of the Puttinu Cares Football Marathon will be held at the Marsa Sports Ground.
