The Ministry for Gozo has said that the restructuring works connected with the Zewwieqa Waterfront project have got underway in the last few days.
The project involves the general upgrading and embellishment of Taz-Zewwieqa into a waterfront area by creating pedestrian zones, landscaped plazas with seating areas and open sea views, an area hosting the restored Dghajsa tal-Latini and an informal stage structure. The project aims to create another tourism zone in Gozo by turning it into a hub of entertainment activities.
The design chosen for the project was that of Ghajnsielem architect, Godwin Sultana.
The project is being cofinanced by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Operational Programme 1, 2007 – 2013.
