The Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS) as part of the activities celebrating the “European Year of Volunteering 2011″(EYV 2011) has launched the Children’s art competition and exhibition with Skolasajf, Student Services Department, Ministry of Education, Employment and the Family The project is being themed ‘Volunteer! Make a Difference!’

This first edition of the MCVS Children’s art competition (ages 7 – 12 years) has been launched as a project together with Skolasajf centres which total to over 80 centres in Malta and Gozo.

The kids are being asked to paint a Volunteering theme – which will require some imagination but will be a rewarding experience.

Attached please find the official poster together with the application form. Students need to be participating in the Skolasajf programme organised by the Students Services Department so that they are eligible to participate.

The prize giving ceremony will be held on the 31st August, 2011 at the St. Vincent DePaule Hospital which will see a closure of a relay of Volunteering events aimed at the Skolasajf children, one of which was the adoption of a ‘grandparent’ in an old people’s home.

The exhibits will be put up for display for a period of time and children will be awarded prizes related to art.
