The Gozo University Group (GUG) is the only student organisation representing Gozitan students at the University of Malta; and has since its inception committed itself through the years to represent and promote the interests of Gozitan students. Likewise, it strives to make their life at university more trouble-free and it does its utmost to cater for Gozitans’ particular requirements and needs.
This year, GUG has been working hard in giving fellow Gozitan students the possibility to take their University examinations, be it credit tests or end of year or final examinations, in Gozo, instead of crossing over to Malta. Earlier this month, during a meeting, the new executive has asked the Minister of Gozo, Giovanna Debono, to support this issue.
GUG said it would like sincerely express its thanks and gratitude towards the Ministry and the Minister for Gozo, for taking up the commitment with an official letter to provide all the necessary logistical support needed for such examinations to be held in Gozo. GUG also thanked the Minister for her co-operation in extending its opportunities and for all her assistance as regards to this important matter.
GUG concluded by saying it would also like to ask the Rector of University of Malta and Registrar to seriously take into consideration this issue and to take all the necessary steps needed. Undoubtedly, this shall be of great benefit for Gozitan students for it shall make their life at university at an equal level with Maltese students.
