A sculpture has been erected in Munxar Square carved out of a block of limestone weighing approximately 5 tons. The work has been carried out by Austrian sculptor, Cristian Koller, who lives in the locality.

The Minister for Gozo, Giovanno Debono and Chris Said, Parliamentary Secretary for Consumers, Fair Competition, Local Councils and Public Dialogue visited Munxar to speak to Mr Koller about the sculpture. Aslo present were the Austrian Ambassador to Malta, E.T. Petra Maria Schneebauer and the Mayor of Munxar, Joseph Sultana.

Last week the residents of Munxar, in particular the children, had the opportunity to be part of the project by carrying out chiselling in small areas, of the stone under the guidance of the sculptor, Christian Koller.

It is expected that in the coming weeks a merry-go-round will also be installed on the square, which will be officially inaugurated on Munxar Day, the 12th of December,
