The Ministry for Gozo has said this afternoon that stormy weather which swept across Gozo yesterday resulted in many roads being damaged around the island with soil and rubble falling due to collapsed walls, this lead in some cases to roads being closed.

“Workers from the various departments with the Ministry for Gozo were mobilised to deal with clearing the roads and ensuring that they were safe to open, carrying out urgent repairs where necessary. This work was carried out in coordination with the Civil Protection Department.”

“The work went on into the late evening and has continued today.” The Ministry for Gozo said that, “these works will continue until the damaged roads have all been repaired.”
