Heritage Mata has said “that as of the 21st of December 2011, Maltaticket will not be Heritage Malta’s official ticketing service provider. In this respect all Hal Saflieni Hypogeum tickets issued by Maltaticket for 2012 are invalid and will be refused entry to the Hypogeum.”

Heritage Malta said it “will NOT assume any responsibility for 2012 tickets which are not purchased through Heritage Malta and will subsequently be refused entry. If tickets for this period have been already purchased through Maltaticket website, kindly contact vendor on +356 27842538 or info@maltaticket.com for a refund since these tickets will not be considered valid. For 2012 tickets from Heritage Malta please call +356 22954312 (office hours) or email on info@heritagemalta.org. “

Hi, we are very disappointed about this fact. We are from Germany and we will visit Gozo and Malta for the first time in December and January 2012 with our child.

We have already bought our legal tickets for the hypogäum on the 16th of November 2011 by Maltaticket for January 2012. At that moment we could not see any report like this at any place. Now Heritage Malta has told us by mail that our tickets issued by Maltaticket for 2012 are invalid and will be refused entry to the Hypogeum.

Contrary to this Maltaticket has told us by mail they can confirm that the tickets we purchased from Heritage Malta are actually valid and we will not be refused entry to the Hypogeum. A refund will not be given to us.

In our mind Heritage Malta and Maltaticket implement a conflict at other peoples’s expense, people, who want to explore Malta’s history and want to learn to live Malta.

If Heritage Malta will deny access to the hypogeum, we only have the possibility to call the police to express charges.

If any friendly Gozo Resident has an idea to help us – your Mail is very welcome!

My advice to you is to sue them and take all th way to the cleaners till such time they get their act together and treat us with respect, they might do it to their own but to us its an insult.

maltaticket.com are still selling tickets from their website for the hypogeum for 2012

    4. Lonki says:

Yes, they do. Maltaticket told us, that our tickets are perfectly valid, and legally must be honoured by Heritage Malta. In fact, our tickets contain a fiscal receipt issued by Heritage Malta and bearing Heritage Malta’s VAT number.
Nevertheless Heritage Malta told us the tickets we bought from Maltaticket are not a legal or fiscal document therefore will be refused entry to the Hypogeum.
Heritage Malta also offered us new tickets and they urge us to book at our earliest to avoid someone else taking our places. This is indeed highly unfortunate and unprofessional, and gives a very negative reflection to Malta. We asked Heritage Malta for any other solution but they do not come towards to us in any way.

A bad affair. Not even good for Maltas reputation. Hope you find a good solution.

Sorry to hear about you bad luck with Heritage Malta Lonki, but i thought by now you have realized that one cannnot rely on the Maltese, they seem to invent new rules and regulations on a daily bases, and the Maltese just do not have the decency to inform the tourists of any change in their programe. i have black listed Malta as we too had very similar let downs in the past with the Maltese. Someone said sue them, damn right too.

    7. g. henry brown says:

They put Malta to shame. Heritage Malta takes a quite natural responsibility towards foreign guests. Send for the police if they deny access to the hypogeum.

    8. John Cedric Jason says:

maltaticket.com are still selling 2012 tickets for all Heritage Malta sites indicated by the “H” logo including the Hypogeum. It’s out of all reason.

    9. Lonki says:

We informed Malta Tourism Authority about the matter with Heritage Malta and Maltaticket.
Perhaps they can help to avert damage to innocent people.

    10. Daniel says:

      Hi Lonki,
How is it now? Sadly, I am also in this trouble now. Both sides insist that they are right and I therefore buy another new ticket from the new booking website first, in case that they really reject me to visit Hypogeum. As for the refund, I really have no idea and this thing is really a mess. Do you have any good ideas? Thx a lot.

    11. John Merchant says:

      Hi All
for a refund I asked the bank who confirmed that Maltaticket have been stopped by court to sell tickets. All worked fine and i got money back. Heritage malta stretched their resources to give me another tour in a different date, and luckily it was okk for me. The tickets issued by maltaticket are fakes and we all should sue them

Hi, today we came back from our wonderful Malta and Gozo journey. At least Heritage Malta gave us new tickets for the Hypogeum. It was a goodwill from Heritage Malta and when visiting this interesting site on the 6th of January they gave us a present (a book and an interactive CD). We were very happy about this nice solution in our matter. Many thanks also to Malta Tourism Authority for their support!
Visiting Malta and Gozo was a very nice experience for us, because of the Maltese and Gozo people were very helpful and very friendly towards us. We have never experienced such kindness to foreign tourists in any way. For that many thanks to you and all the best regards from Germany!
