Malta Enterprise is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the allocation of industrial space in the Xewkija Industrial Park.
This EOI is envisaged to allocate approximately 7,400sqm of industrial space in the Xewkija Industrial Park. This industrial space will be allocated to the best proposals in line with the established eligibility and evaluation parameters.
Among others these are to include that the applicant must be employing a minimum of three persons (full-time equivalents ‘FTEs’) duly registered with the Employment & Training Cooperation as at date of issue of the EOI.
The only exception to this eligibility parameter is in the case of start-ups that were set up as a limited liability company no more than one year prior to the issue of the EOI, and are committed to employ a minimum of three FTEs employees within two years. These start ups will be considered as eligible enterprises in terms of this EOI.
Malta Enterprise (ME) is the national agency focused on attracting inward investment, promoting trade and supporting enterprise in the Maltese islands. It also acts as a point of single contact for businesses.
It is generally recognised that the island of Gozo faces a number of challenges that emanate from its market size and double insularity. These challenges affect most of the industrial sectors of the Gozitan economy. Enterprise development through innovation and the generation of new sustainable employment in Gozo is a priority for Malta Enterprise as it adds value and generates wealth.
The availability of public industrial space is limited due to environmental constraints and limited stock of public land. While Malta Industrial Parks Limited is committed to create additional space through the Micro- Enterprise Eco-Park and other redevelopment projects, the challenge is immediate and present. This is compounded by MEPA’s policy to relocate industrial activity out of the village core.
In order to alleviate this problem, Malta Enterprise is inviting Expressions of Interest for the allocation of the current remaining industrial space in the Xewkija Industrial Park.
This EOI is envisaged to allocate approximately 7,400sqm of industrial space in the Xewkija Industrial Park. This industrial space will be allocated to the best proposals in line with the eligibility and evaluation parameters established in the EOI document.
Eligible enterprises wishing to participate in this EOI are invited to submit their complete application forms by 12:00hrs (Central European Time) of 31st January 2012.

Malta Enterprise and Malta Industrial Parks Ltd. are also inviting enterprises to attend an information session ath the Hotel Calypso in Marsalforn, whereby the organisations will provide further details and the necessary clarifications on the Expression of Interest. The information session will take place this Thursday, th 12th of January, between 12.30-2.00pm.
