Shaun Sultana won his first major Premier Division trophy on Friday by beating Jason Vassallo 7-6 in the Gozo Snooker Cup Final for 2011-2012. The event was organised at the Leone Band Club in Victoria, by the Gozo Billiards & Snooker Association,

The Association said that Shaun was leading 3 frames to 1, when Jason in typical fashion, came back to tie the match 3-3. Shaun showed his game is maturing, held his nerve and when Jason missed the yellow, Shaun took advantage and closed the match.

The match was followed by the trophy-presentation ceremony by Dr Michael Caruana LL.D., President of the host Leone Philharmonic Society.
