February’s industrial production down by 11.3% on 2011

Provisional seasonally adjusted data show that in February when compared to the corresponding period in 2011, the index of industrial production decreased by 11.3 per cent. The production of intermediate goods, capital goods and consumer goods went down by 20.8, 0.6 and 7.7 per cent respectively, while the production of energy rose by 7.4 per cent.
Compared to the previous month, the index of industrial production went down by 4.1 per cent to 95.1 points. The production of intermediate goods and capital goods decreased by 4.1 and 2.3 per cent respectively. On the other hand, the production of energy and consumer goods went up by 1.5 and 3.5 per cent respectively.
