The Technical Regulations Division within the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority has said that that currently, a recall of an electrical adaptor branded “Samsonite” having type: J332/Model 3172, Barcode: 5 411501 335570 is in effect.

The product poses a risk from an electrical shock since it is possible for equipment, which should in normal circumstances be earthed, to be connected to the mains supply without an earth connection. Thus, such product is deemed not complying with the relevant regulations and standards.

Consumers having bought such adaptors are to immediately refrain from using the product being recalled and are urged to return same at the product’s point of sales.
