F.O.A.A.G. welcomes MCESD changes as a big step forwardThe Friends of Australia Association – Gozo Branch, said today that as a Gozitan NGO it would express its full support to the changes being proposed to the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development (MCESD), especially with a representative from the Gozo Regional Council (GRC) on the MCESD.

“This is a big step forward to alleviate the in-built discrimination which exists against the Gozitan people by subsequent governments in such structures. Gozitans need to be represented more in more institutions.”

The NGO said that “Gozitans should be appointed automatically on ALL Government and Parastatal Agency Boards, Councils and Committees. This is just one way to balance matters with respect to the Gozitan people being closed to the centre of power in the country and alleviate Gozo’s double-insularity issue.”
