The public is being urged strongly to donate blood in Gozo, particularly those who are blood group O Positive.

The Blood Donation Centre at the Gozo General Hospital is open on Monday to Saturday between 8.30am and 11.30am. On Saturday the 4th of August blood donations will also be taken at the Ghajnsielem Band Club between 9.00am and 1.00 pm.

Blood donation is sometimes taken for granted or ignored.

The more blood donors the better. When donating blood people are helping others and having the chance to help save lives.

It is important that anyone wishing to donate blood should take their ID card with them.
