Andre Apap pleaded guilty in court today to defrauding 15 people who had made online bookings and paid deposits, for farmhouse rentals on Gozo in properties that did not belong to him.
Apap, aged 23, advertised farmhouse holidays and took deposits of between €50 and €300 on the bookings that were made. The court was told that he would then cancel the booking at the last minute without refunding the deposit money taken.
The court was also told that the photographs of the farmhouses he advertised had been obtained from other websites.
The court granted Andre Apap bail against a personal guarantee of €10,000.
