XIII Maltex Philatelic Exhibition – ‘Malta – In War and Peace’

The Maltex Philatelic Exhibition, Malta’s annual major stamp and postal history event, is being organised by the Malta Philatelic Society at The Green Lounge, Hotel Phoenicia, Floriana.
This year’s slogan is ‘Malta – In War and Peace.’ In this thirteenth edition, members of the Society will display Traditional Stamps, unique items of Postal History, Old Maltese Postcards and Thematic Collections.
The official inauguration ceremony will take place at 6.00pm on Thursday, the 11th of October, 2012 by H.E. Dr. George Abela, the President of Malta.
As in previous editions, this year there will be four sections in which members will feature their exhibits, namely:
a. MALTA Traditional / Postal History
b. FOREIGN Traditional / Postal History
c. THEMATIC Collections / One Frame Exhibit
d. YOUTH SECTION Under 16 years
The XIII Maltex 2012 Philatelic Exhibition will then be open to the general public on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the 12th, 13th and 14th of October with opening hours as below:
Opening Hours:
Friday, 12th October: 9.00 am ~ 6.00 pm
Saturday, 13th October: 9.00 am ~ 6.00 pm
Sunday, 14th October: 9.00 am ~ 12.00 pm
Maltapost will be rendering postal services at their Temporary Post Office set up at the Exhibition, whilst well known foreign and local philatelic dealers will offer professional advice and free valuations.
Entrance to the exhibition is free.
